Preparation for Birth
A six week course providing information about all aspects of childbirth. Couples learn what to expect during each
phase of childbirth and how to work together. All birth options are taught. Topics include third-trimester pregnancy changes, the birth process,
labor, delivery, labor support, variations of labor and going home. 7-9:30PM Fee: $60
Birth Refresher
A one-time course for couples who have previously attended childbirth preparation class. The course includes a
review of the birth process, labor, delivery, breathing and relaxation. Thursdays, 7-9:30PM Fee: $10
VBAC Course
This course is offered to couples who have had cesarean births. It's an opportunity to discuss the birth options
that are available to them. One class, 7-9PM Fee: None
Infant-Pediatric CPR, Safety & First Aid
This course certifies parents, babysitters, day care workers and anyone interested in infant and pediatric CPR.
First aid and safety issues are also covered. Must attend both nights. 6:30-9:30PM Fee: $25 per person
Breast Feeding
In one session, this course physically and emotionally prepares women for breast feeding. It covers the advantages of
breast feeding, lactation and getting ready to breast feed. Partners are encouraged to attend. Thursdays,
7-9:30PM Fee: None
Newborn & Early Parenting
Topics include infant daily care, when to call the pediatrician, feeding and sleep habits, infant growth,
development and illness. Thursdays,
7-9:30PM Fee: None
Sibling Class
A one hour class to prepare children for the birthof a new baby and for their new role as "special big kids."
The children are also taken on a tour of the maternity unit and given a snack. Saturdays, 4-5PM Fee: None
